Delicious. That's what I always think when I see a really good antique Garnet Carbuncle. The voluptuous cut of a carbuncle is like a bottomless pool of the deepest red. This early Victorian pendant is a double drop, hinged in the center and suspended from the original rose cut diamond set bale. Each gold set Garnet is held and framed by silver leaves set with rose cut diamonds. The back of the top garnet holds a locket. It is shown on a long silver chain but would originally have been worn on a ribbon tied around the neck. The gems are all foil backed to make the best use of candlelight.
Measurements: The Pendant 2.5" long and .75" wide. The Chain 20" long.
Materials: Garnets, Rose Cut Diamonds, Gold, and Silver.
Era: The pendant circa 1820. The chain is new.
Condition: Excellent Antique Condition.
