The French have always had a knack for making beautiful fine jewelry. This pair of diamond set drop earrings are white gold and marked with French hallmarks for 18k. The diamonds are wonderful chunky mine cut cushion shapes gems set in tulip-like mountings. The earrings have an early version of hinges back wires which add a level of safety. White gold was first developed for use in France around 1915 and patented in America in 1918.
