This lovely little fob is a pâte de verre bead in a very Art Deco shade of green. The bead is capped, top and bottom, with brass discs. It’s suspended on a short length of delicate chain and finished with a jump ring bale. Pâte de verre is a form of art glass created by crushing glass and applying it to a mold, allowing for the creation of intricate and unique color patterns. It was particularly useful in giving glass the look of gem stones and was quite popular in the very early 20th century. This colorful fob makes a pretty pendant, an added gold filled jump ring makes it easy to wear any way you like. Circa 1920.
