Astonishing Rose Cut White Sapphire & Gold Georgian Pendant

Utterly breathtaking, this is the finest use of white sapphires we have ever seen. This generous Georgian pendant features a trove of rose-cut white sapphires set in tiers of 14k gold. A central sapphire is collet set raised over layers of pierced and engraved gold petals. Each petal is set with sapphires of varying sizes. A large square bale is set with a final sapphire. Turn the pendant over, and you will observe the jewel is exquisitely engraved on every surface. A rich bloom enhances the gorgeously worked gold. The gems are foiled in closed-back settings, creating a moody, mystical effect. Historically, this astonishing pendant would have been worn on a ribbon, but it would also look great on one of our Ancient Influences married chains. Circa 1800.

Please note that you Do Not want to get foiled closed back gems wet; it will darken the stones.

Details.....The pendant measures 2" by 2.14" with a 0.72" profile. The piece weighs 14.3 grams. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
