Aurora Borealis Beads & Brass Filigree Chandelier Earrings

Chandelier earrings with a captivating cascade of iridescent beads. Tiers of clear glass beads with an aurora borealis finish tumble from rhinestone-set locking ear wires. The ear wires are not hypoallergenic. Faceted round and bicone beads are strung on brass headpins and capped with brass filigree. The beads swing and sway, sparkling like ice crystals in the sun. A glamorous example of 20th-Century costume jewelry. Circa 1960.

The iridescent aurora borealis finish was popular in the mid-20th Century. Named for the fabulous light display of the Northern Hemisphere's night sky.
