Aurora Borealis Beads & Brass Filigree Tassel Necklace

A glorious strand of clear aurora borealis beads, finished with a tassel of frothing beads and brass. Faceted round and bicone beads are strung on white silk and accented with filigreed brass bead caps. The tassel is a burst of iridescent beads emerging from a dome of brass filigree. These beads are strung on brass headpins and finished with filigreed bead caps. The necklace finishes with a beaded extender chain and a hook clasp. A glamorous example of 20th-century costume jewelry. Circa 1960.

The iridescent aurora borealis finish was popular in the mid-20th Century. Named for the fabulous light display of the Northern Hemisphere's night sky.

Details.....The necklace is 24" long with a 2.5" extender. The beads range from 6.1mm to 10.2mm in diameter. The tassel measures .65" by 1.60". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on antique and vintage jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
