Often these Jade necklaces from the mid 20th century incorporated older pieces of jade, that is the case with this pretty piece. The"butterfly" above the pendant likely began its life in a hair ornament in the early 1800's and the intricately carved jade disc that is the pendant is a 19thc piece as well. The necklace itself was assembled in the 1940's, the gold is 14k and there are 2 round jade beads.
