A delightful Boucher choker sparkling with the tender hues of Spring's earliest flowers. Panels of rhodium-plated leaves set with pale pink, yellow, and white rhinestones. A smattering of deep purple stones provides contrast. The panels are linked by square-cut stones in soft yellow and lilac. Lovely, romantic, and very well made. The stones are prong-set, and the supple links lay nicely over the collarbone. This necklace fastens with a rhinestone studded extender chain and hook clasp, signed "Boucher." Spring bride, that's all I am saying. Circa 1950.

Marcel Boucher was one of the 20th Century's finest costume jewelry makers. Born in Paris in 1898. After the end of World War I, he apprenticed at Cartier. He transferred to New York City in the 1920s, where he became fascinated with costume jewelry's endless possibilities. Boucher's pieces were famed for looking real and following the fashions of the day.

Details: This necklace is 13" long (16" with an extender chain) and measures .48" wide. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
