Brilliant Natural Blue Zircon with Diamond Ring

A natural blue zircon dazzles in this dream of a vintage ring. The zircon is four-prong set, allowing plenty of light to pass through it. Natural blue zircon has the very high refractive index of 1.93-1.98. The higher the refractive index of a gem, the slower light passes through it. This causes the stone to sparkle like wild. The zircon sits above angled cathedral shoulders. Each shoulder has three pretty diamonds set in milgrained white gold layered over the 14k yellow gold body of the ring. The two-tone gold is very complimentary to the white diamonds and the rich blue of the zircon. Circa 1940.
