The most exquisite tracery frosts this classic Art Deco camphor glass necklace. Lacy 14k white gold filigree lays over a rectangular plaque of sun-rayed frosted camphor glass. A tiny diamond is center set, twinkling in a white gold lozenge. The glass is displayed in an engraved frame and suspended on its original filigree bale. The pendant hangs on a modern 14k white gold rope chain. Camphor glass is the cornerstone of any Art Deco jewelry collection; this necklace is a delightful example of the genre. Circa 1920.

Camphor glass was developed in the 1920s to be used in place of the more expensive rock crystal popular at the time. Camphor glass is made by treating clear glass with hydrofluoric acid vapors to achieve the signature frosted finish.

Details.....The chain is 18" long, and the pendant measures .72" by .99", 1.40" with bale. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
