These signed Carter and Gough cuff links are distinctly Art Nouveau. Each Cufflink features a beautiful woman with her flowing hair caught up in a twist with a flower. The finish of the gold accentuates the depth of design. The back of the cufflinks are signed with the Carter and Gough mark, a C inside an arrowhead, and 14k, on the side of the stem holding the front to the back is Pat. 00. Carter and Gough were based in Newark New Jersey, the seat of American Jewelry manufacturing at the turn of the 20th century and produced lovely pieces. The cufflinks still reside in the box they were originally sold in, from C.D. Peacock in Chicago.
