Chas Horner 9ct Gold & Pearl Arts & Crafts Pendant

This Charles Horner pendant is a fine example of Arts & Crafts design, with sophisticated elements unique to the style. The 9ct gold pendant is a trefoil shield suspended within a delicate ring. A luscious blister pearl sits at the shield's center, and a small river pearl dangles on a cable chain swag. Tiny repoussé leaves embellish the shield. The antique pendant hangs on a modern 10k gold cable chain. This wonderful piece is hallmarked for Chester, 9ct gold, and the year 1913. It is also stamped with the maker's mark "C.H." for Charles Horner.

The Arts and Crafts movement was a response to the decline in production standards associated with the Industrial Revolution; its philosophy centered craftsmanship and quality materials.
