A cunningly crafted sterling silver arrowhead from Diné (Navajo) silversmith Wilson Padilla. The arrowhead has a pleasing organic texture, contrasting bright silver high points and darkly oxidized low points. Sloping from point to point, curving knife-edged sides give it an intriguingly sharp appearance. But don't worry, this piece is smooth and wearable. A petite cabochon of brilliantly blue turquoise sits at the center in a sawtooth bezel. Tiny points of black matrix highlight the stone's bright sky color. The wire-wrapped "stem" creates an integrated bale, allowing the arrowhead to be worn on a variety of different necklaces. Circa 1960.
Wilson Padilla is a Diné artist known for his incredible hand-worked silver pieces.
Details.....The arrowhead measures 1.97" from bale to point and is 1.02" wide. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
