An odd Czech necklace of red glass and colorful enamel on silver-tone metal. A faceted red glass square is prong set at the heart of a costume metal pendant. Stripes of red and blue enamel run vertically down the pendant, while green and yellow enamel adorns the pendant's flared corners. The elaborate pendant hangs from a decorative "V" shaped bale and a chain of silver-tone metal. Circa 1930.
The jewelry made in Czechoslovakia in the early 20th Century is wonderful, famed for the high quality of their art glass and the level of detail they put into their pieces. Even though these pieces were not made of precious materials, they have become collectible and appreciated.
Details.....The chain is 18.5" long, and the pendant measures 1.23" by 1.68", 2.20" with bale. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
