Dancing Couple Sterling & Enamel Brooch by Margot de Taxco

This charming sterling silver and enamel brooch depicts a dancing couple. This highly collectible piece is from renowned artist Margot de Taxco. The man wears a black suit, and the woman wears a baby blue dress with a full skirt. The figures have a delightful sense of weightless movement. This brooch fastens with a security clasp. The back is signed "Margot de Taxco," "Sterling Made in Mexico," and with the early eagle 16 sterling mark. It is also marked with the design number 5421. Margot de Taxco designs were numbered 5100 to 5790, so this is her 321st design. This piece was made around 1948, at the height of her career.
