A classic Victorian buttercup solitaire ring set with a truly special diamond. The diamond is an old mine cut with all of the funk and character we love in these chunky antique stones, but with a dazzling clarity and white color we very rarely find in the old mine diamonds. This wonderful diamond sits in an eight-prong buttercup setting amidst clearly defined petals, this setting resembles an actual buttercup more closely than they often do. The buttercup-shaped top sits above sculpted shoulders and a sleek band. The 14k yellow gold is the perfect mellow old-gold color. The interior of the band is stamped with an "A" and a five pointed star, the maker's mark for Allsop Brothers. Circa 1880.
This ring comes with an insurance replacement cost appraisal. The appraisal is done by an independent gem lab. The appraised value is $3500.
