Delicious Five-Strand Red Bead Necklace by DeMario

This delicious DeMario necklace features five frothy strands of cranberry and black currant-colored beads. Round and faceted beads in a variety of sizes and shades of deep red, some glowing with an iridescent Aurora Borealis finish, are strung with gold-tone spacer beads. The decorative gold-tone clasp is set with red and white rhinestones; it reminds us of a deconstructed lady bug. Signed "DeMario" on the clasp's back. Festive, fun, and just a bit funky. Circa 1960.

DeMario Jewelry was a New York City costume jewelry manufacturer, in operation from 1945 to 1965. Founded by Robert DeMario, the high-end brand was known for its intricate designs and quality craftsmanship. DeMario jewelry is now considered rare and quite collectible.
