Doves of Peace Pietra Dura Micro Mosaic Pendant

The exquisite doves of peace motif is depicted in intricate pietra dura micro mosaic. The beautiful stonework is set in an elaborate gold filled frame. Pietra dura means "hard stone," this design was created by inlaying tiny pieces of colored stone into a stone background. A jump ring has been added to the bale making it easier to wear on a chain. The serenity of the doves brings a sense of peace. Circa 1860.
