Dramatic Art Moderne Garnet & White Gold Solitaire Ring

A dramatic Art Moderne solitaire ring set with a sanguine garnet. The 1.87ct gem is displayed in a scalloped eight-prong head, the scalloping creating a rather intense spiky effect. Cathedral shoulders are ribbed, with a smaller polished triangle atop them; the shoulders taper into a half-round band. The effect is almost industrial, with an almost futuristic aesthetic. Art Moderne developed out of 1930s Art Deco, accentuating Deco's architectural elements. It is a compelling style that creates very interesting jewelry. This interesting ring will make a stunning engagement ring for a lover of colored gemstones. Circa 1930.

Details.....Currently a size 7.25. The top of the ring measures 18.7mm by 10.5mm, and the band is 2mm wide. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the character.
