Dramatic leaf earrings studded with glittering marcasites. These sterling silver earrings have graceful, flowing lines and wonderful dark sparkle. These earrings have a sensual curve along the earlobe, so very lovely. Circa 1930.
Marcasite is a soft greyish/silver mineral which gained popularity in the late 19th Century and became one of the most popular gems of the Art Deco era. Marcasites are especially lovely in silver where their dark sparkle plays nicely with the metal.
