This Georgian ring features woven hair under a beveled edged crystal set in an elaborate 12k gold setting embellished with royal blue enamel. The blue enamel is rare in pieces of this kind. The crystal is bezel set and framed in a twist of enameled gold. The plait of dark brown hair is beautifully woven. The split shoulders are lovingly hand engraved and enameled. 

Mourning and sentimental jewelry held great meaning in symbolism and that is reflected in the use of colors and gems in mourning pieces. The unusual blue enamel on this ring suggests that the beloved deceased may have been of royal blood.  What an extraordinary and beautiful piece of history.

Details.....Currently a size 7.5. This ring cannot be sized. The front of the ring measures 10.1mm wide, the back of the band measures 2.8mm. In Very Good condition for its age, the crystal shows wear. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces, we consider it part of the charm.
