Edwardian Crown & Shield English Sterling Medal

A classic sterling silver English medal fob with an applied gold shield. This piece has been well-loved; worn smooth like a worry stone or similar talisman. The medal is a spoked circle topped with an engraved crown. The shield sits on a field of engraved sprigs, hand-engraved with the initials "JR." A personal inscription has been engraved on the back of the fob but has been worn down to illegibility. This fob will look lovely worn on one of our Ancient Influences' married chains.

The back of the medal is hallmarked for Birmingham, sterling silver, and 1907. It bears the maker's mark "M.B" for Birmingham silversmith Matthew Boulton.

Details: The medal measures 1" by 1.53". In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
