During the 1860s, when America's first transcontinental railroad was laying tracks across the country, jewelry in the shape of railroad nails became popular. Call me crazy, but I believe the frame of this handsome English spinner fob is shaped as two curved railroad nails. Discs of carnelian and bloodstone are set in a 9ct rosy gold bezel that spins easily within the frame. The fob hangs from a short segment of chain, making it easy to wear it any way you like. Its bezel is hallmarked for Birmingham, England, and the maker's mark "MW&S" for Matthew Wilcox & Son.

Details.....The fob measures .76" by 1", 1.45" with chain. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
