This Murrle Bennett necklace is in the Arts and Crafts style, with the ethereal blue-green enamel the era is known for. Gracefully curving lines, natural elements and Art Nouveau influences are features that Murrle Bennett was well known for. The sterling silver pendant depicts curling poppies and supports a natural river pearl drop. A swag of twisted link chain hangs from connecting elements that reflect traditional Celtic design sensibilities. Beautiful, and exquisitely feminine. Circa 1900 - 1910.
Murrle Bennett was well known for their beautifully crafted Jewelry. Active from 1884 to 1914 in London the company was founded by Ernest Murrle and JB Bennett. They created lovely pieces in the prevailing styles of the period.
