An absolutely fabulous necklace of Peking glass beads in dramatic blood red. Small round red beads are girded with clear glass "O" shaped beads, like Saturn and her rings. The beads are strung on deep red silk, and terminate in a beaded tassel. Bold and graphic with great movement, they really knew their beads in the 1920s.
Peking glass is a form of Chinese glassware that originated in 18th century Peking, China. It was originally used in the fabrication of glass snuff bottles. During the 1920s Chinese fashion was all the rage, stylish women often adorned themselves in Chinese and Chinese-inspired clothing and jewelry.
