This slide is so fabulous, the 14k gold has a lovely color with a detailed textured surface and the opal has amazing fire for such a petite gem. The chain is gold filled and a flattened curb. Slide chains were originally designed to hold a small ladies watch. It may still be used for this, but they are very versatile and may be worn in many ways. This chain can be doubled for a shorter look and you can hang pendants, fobs, lockets, or whatever strikes your fancy from the hook. Circa 1880.
Details.....The chain measures 49" long, the slide measures 8.1mm and the hook is 0.68" long. In Very Good antique condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
