Fantastic Mosaic Turquoise Inlay Shell Slide
A Santo Domingo clamshell slide, set with fantastic mosaic inlay. Greenish-blue turquoise inlay is edged in a checkerboard border of onyx and mother of pearl. The shell is a vivid bright yellow color that compliments the cool tone of the turquoise beautifully. The shell is drilled through to create a slide, perfect for wearing on a strand of beads. Circa 1960.
This wonderful style of inlaid shell originates with the Kewa Pueblo, previously known as the Pueblo of Santo Domingo, people of New Mexico.
Details.....The shell measures 2.25" by 1.8". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
