Fierce Boucher earrings of sterling silver set with faux coral. The earrings are scimitar-shaped, the "coral" encrusted blades climb the earlobe. These fun earrings are screwback; you can enjoy them whether or not your ears are pierced. Signed "MB Sterling" and "Pat.Pend 2368," the number patent and use of sterling silver date this piece to World War II.
Marcel Boucher was one of the 20th Century's finest costume jewelry makers. He was born in Paris in 1898. After the end of World War I, Boucher apprenticed at Cartier. He transferred to New York City in the 1920s, where he became fascinated with costume jewelry's endless possibilities. Boucher's pieces were famed for looking real and following the fashions of the day.
