Victorians were fascinated by natural history, and this enchanting ring features an unusual fluorite stone with interesting properties. The rectangular fluorite stone has crystalized in cubic forms with soft shades of blue. Eight tab prongs display the crystal, raised above ornate hand engraved shoulders and a wide, flat Cigar-style band in 10k gold. Wonderful Grand Period design complements the natural beauty of this unique stone. Circa 1890.

Fluorite is a calcium crystal, it crystallizes in cubic, and octahedral forms. Fluorite is named for the fluorescent luminance that it emits when held under certain angles of UV light. Fluorite is a stone regarded for its spiritual detoxification abilities and capacity to transform negative energy into positive energy.

Details.....Currently a size 8.5. The top of the ring measures 9.7mm by 16.3mm, and the band is 4.8mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
