French Turquoise & 18k Gold Brooch with Diamond Sparks

This late 19th-century French brooch is a delight to the senses. An oval ring of lustrous 18k gold forms the base of this enchanting piece. The oval turquoise cabochon is center set, radiant in an engraved bezel. The stone is a pale green, shattered through with an uncanny dark green matrix. Sculpted leaves and scrollwork flank the turquoise; the gold work is applied to the ring, creating airy negative space. Tiny diamond sparks nestle amongst the highly detailed leaves. Exquisite engraving and delicate beading further elevate the jewel. The brooch fastens with the c-clasp common to the era; its long pin and clasp bear French hallmarks. French jewelry is incomparable; the beauty and craftsmanship are superb. Circa 1890.

Details.....The brooch measures 1.6" by .82". In Very Good Antique Condition. You should expect some wear with all antique and vintage pieces; we consider it part of their charm.
