The sweetest little Victorian ring ever. A wee red garnet doublet nestles up to a chubby little crescent moon of luminous moonstone. The gems are set in 10k rosy gold, in a low profile, claw-pronged head. The pinched, sculpted shoulders are delicately engraved with classic Victorian designs. Circa 1880.
A doublet is a composite gemstone consisting of two pieces of the same or different gem materials, or one gem material and a second of glass. The pieces are layered to improve the appearance of the gem; for example, in this case a thin slice of garnet is layered over a piece of red glass, improving the color of the garnet.
Details.....Currently a size 7. This ring can be sized up or down within two sizes for a fee. The top of the ring measures 9.4mm by 8.6mm and the band is 1.6mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
