Gorgeous naturalistic flowers adorn the 12k gold shoulders of this pretty Georgian Era ring. The oval center stone is likely an amethyst, the closed back gems from this era had foils behind them to enhance color and light movement. The gem is set in a cut back collet, typical of the period. The decadent purple center stone is surrounded by a halo of seed pearls. Amethyst and pearl were commonly used in mourning jewelry. The initials on the back, "W.M.L." engraved in a lovely script, are likely those of a loved one.

I have been gathering special and rare jewels for several decades with the intention of eventually releasing them in Curated Collections. The first group I am making available includes extraordinary rings.

Details.....A size 6.75. We will not size this ring. The top of the ring measures 14.6mm by 12.5mm, shoulder is 8.9mm wide, and the band is 3.5mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition, with signs that the pearls have been secured and the back of the band replaced.
