An unusual early Rose cut Diamond solitaire ring.
Swirling floral vines in an openwork design give this ring an ethereal beauty. The mounting undulates and curves up the sides and over the shoulders of the ring. The slightly oval rose cut diamond is set in a silver closed back setting, which is then set into the many-pronged head. Diamonds were commonly set in closed silver mountings with foil behind the gem to make them sparkle more in the low light of candles.
