A Glorious Butterfly Carved in red jade and opal set in an elaborate silver frame made especially for it. The setting has open slides on the back so the butterfly can be slid onto a ribbon or attached to a chain. This is the only example of opal and jade I have ever had in the shop, it is really amazing. The opal is lively, its opal fire difficult to photograph, the jade translucent. Circa 1920.
I will be listing a large quantity of delightful Vintage Jade Jewels from the Estate of a Collector, it will take some time so watch this space.....
Details.....The butterfly measures 1.95" x 1.17". In Excellent Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
