Goldstone & Silver Necklace with Incredible Beads

This awesome necklace features the most gorgeous beads ever. Coppery goldstone is set in a teardrop-shaped silver pendent; the setting is embellished with flowers and elaborate wire work. This pendant hangs from a necklace made of ornate silver links alternated with the most incredible barrel beads. Goldstone, tigers eye, and bloodstone are layered to create these small work of art. Even the silver clasp is beautiful, adorned with a delicate flower. Don't know for certain, but my Spider Senses believe this piece to be Chinese. So much to see, this necklace is endlessly interesting. Circa 1940.

The "gem" commonly referred to as goldstone is in actuality a type of specialized glass. It is created by mixing copper and other metal oxides with molten glass and allowing tiny crystals of metallic copper to form.

Details.....This necklace has a wearable length of 18". The pendant measures 1.26" by 2" and the barrel beads are 0.55" by 0.46". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
