A long strand of Peking glass beads in graphic black and white. Round white beads alternate with black oval beads. The beads are hand knotted on black silk, with no clasp. Bold and dramatic, they really knew their beads in the 1920s.
Peking glass is a form of Chinese glassware that originated in 18th century Peking, China. It was originally used in the fabrication of glass snuff bottles. During the 1920s Chinese fashion was all the rage, stylish women often adorned themselves in Chinese and Chinese-inspired clothing and jewelry.
