This Mexican green onyx and sterling silver filigree brooch has a secret ... the onyx swings open to reveal an interior chamber. The rectangular onyx has a gorgeous deep green color. This glossy stone is framed in delicate silver wire and bead work, it reminds me of an elaborate little votive box. The locket is a nice size and shape for a photo or a lock of hair. It fastens with a secure rollover clasp. Marked on the back, "Plata Sterling 925." Circa 1960.
Details.....The brooch measures 1.47" by 1.96". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
