A very handsome Retro tie bar with triangles of tortoise shell inlaid in sterling silver. This wonderful piece is marked "Taxco," "Sterling" and "Hecho en México." A perfect Father's Day present or gift for the groom.
This piece dates from the 1940s, a high point in silver jewelry design in Mexico. During World War II Mexico drew jewelry artists from all over the world. The main attraction for the designers and studio jewelers was the locally mined supply of materials. Silver and semi precious gems were abundant and affordable.
Details.....The tie bar measures 1.98" long and 0.40" wide. In Very Good Vintage condition. You should expect all vintage and antique jewels to show some wear, we consider it part of their charm.
