Ideal Antique Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring

Gem Set Love

This antique English beauty may be the Platonic ideal of a diamond engagement ring. A scintillating 0.41ct transitional (round brilliant) cut diamond with a limpid VS clarity sits in an eight-prong platinum head. The head resembles a delicate crown; many small prongs makes for a secure setting that allows a great deal of light to pass through the stone. The white metal of the platinum highlights the color and sparkle of the diamond. The diamond-set head sits above pinched shoulders that taper into a slightly wider band, a very graceful and feminine look. The body of the ring is luxurious 18ct gold, buttery and warm. The two-tone metal and slim band allows this solitaire ring to pair perfectly with a wide variety of wedding bands. Circa 1890.
