Incredible Turquoise in Silver Necklace Signed Skaggs
Glossy bubbles of palest minty-green turquoise is shattered through with a white crystalline matrix. This incredible turquoise gem is bezel set in a sterling silver pendant. Flattened "nailheads" border the bezel. The silver back of this generously sized pendant is engraved "SKAGGS". The pendant hangs by a jump ring and decorative integrated bale from a sterling silver cable chain. Circa 1970.
"SKAGGS" may refer to H. Fred Skaggs (1956-1983) of Scottsdale, AZ. Skaggs was a silversmith and maker of hand-wrought hollowware, flatware, and jewelry. He died in 1983 though his business continued to operate under his name until the 2000s.
Details…..The chain is 19” long. The pendant measures 1.5” by 1.65”, 2.2" with bale. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear in vintage jewels; it is a part of their charm.
