I am a big fan of fob seals. I love seeing the sweet messages carved into them, and imagining all the wonderful letters they were used to seal.
This lovely petite fob likely belonged to a lady, the body of the fob is carved with a pretty foliate design. The seal is a carved Amethyst, it has a sealed envelope in the center and says "Inquire Within".
Materials: Carved Amethyst Seal, gold filled.
Date: Mid 1800's
Condition: Good with light wear in keeping with its age.
Measurements: Bottom 11mm x 9.7mm, 18.4mm tall, ring at top 5.9mm.
