This graceful Arts & Crafts pendant features a limpid moonstone set in gold. Moonstones were highly prized by Arts & Crafts jewelers, the gems have an opalescent optical effect called schiller that appealed to their organic aesthetic. The moonstone is bezel set in the center of a double ellipses, reminiscent of an eye or an eccentric orbit. The 10k gold pendant is delicately wrought with an integrated bale. The modern chain is recycled 10k gold. Circa 1910.

The Arts and Crafts movement was a trend in the decorative and fine arts that originated in the United Kingdom and spread internationally. In a reaction against industrialization and a perceived decline in cultural authenticity, the movement valued traditional craftsmanship and used natural, medieval and folk motifs. The Arts & Crafts style flourished between 1880 and 1920.

Details.....The pendant is 0.39" wide and 1.45" long with bale. The chain is 16" long. In Excellent Antique condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
