Lovely Ladies Gold Gruen Watch c. 1930

This lovely ladies' gold Gruen watch is dainty and tasteful. The round 14k yellow gold case is pleasingly simple, with an uncluttered dial and numbers in gold Arabic numerals. The 17 jewel watch has a Swiss movement. An elaborate monogram is hand engraved on the back. What are the engraved initials? Good question. They may be open, somewhat, to interpretation. The back is also stamped "Gruen". The band is a black leather cord with gold filled fittings. The case and band make an attractive pairing. Circa 1930.

The Gruen Watch Company was one of the United States' largest watch manufacturers. It was in business from about 1894 to 1958.

Details.....The case measures 19.8mm in diameter and the band is 6.5" long. In Very Good Vintage Condition. Small imperfections and wear should always be expected in vintage and antique jewels, we consider it to be a part of their charm.
