A lovely long strand of royal blue Peking glass beads. The beads are hand knotted on charcoal-gray silk, with no clasp. Wear this striking necklace long, doubled up, or knotted, as a fashionable flapper would have worn them. Circa 1920.
Peking glass is a form of Chinese glassware that originated in 18th century Peking. It was originally used in the fabrication of glass snuff bottles. During the 1920s Chinese fashion was all the rage, stylish women often adorned themselves in Chinese and Chinese-inspired clothing and jewelry.
