Black and gold...Nothing is more elegant. This black onyx and 14k gold brooch is beautifully balanced, somber yet luxurious. Bevel-edged onyx "commas" swirl around a circular center like petals. A flower of pearl-set engraved gold sits at the onyx center. Each piece of onyx is set in an engraved bezel with gold beads at the interstices. The tiered construction of the piece is lovely. The brooch is finished with a c-clasp pin and chatelaine hook on the back. Circa 1860.
Details.....The brooch measures 1.2" in diameter. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it a part of their charm.
