This matinee length strand of pearls is just the right length to wear alone or layered with other necklaces. he back of the clasp bears the Mikimoto maker's mark, and they come in their original velvet Mikimoto pearl box. Circa 1950.

Pearls were first cultured in 1893 by Mikimoto. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl. Mikimoto is widely recognized as the most prestigious pearl retailer in the industry& to this day.

Details....The necklace is 22" long. The pearls graduate from 4.6mm to 8mm in diameter. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it a part of the charm.
