Midcentury Rosey Pink Kunzite Hug Ring

Gem Set Love

This ring is so pretty; pretty in pink, you might be tempted to say. An oval blushing-pink Kunzite is nestled in a 10k rose gold hug. This stone refracts light so dramatically it is difficult to capture in a photograph. Sleek and smooth, this is a great example of Midcentury design. Circa 1950.

Kunzite is an unusual stone. It was discovered in 1902, quite recently in the  gemstone timeline. Found in San Diego County, California, it was named for George Frederick Kunz, Tiffany & Co.’s mineralogist. Kunz was the first person to confirm that the newly discovered crystals were a previously unrecognized color of the mineral spodumenel.

Kunzite is a stone associated with romantic love, self-love and the healing of heartache. It is a clearing stone, removing negative energy from an aura or an environment.  We can all use a little more of that, right?
