A fascinating strand of cylindrical turquoise-colored faience and gilt beads is finished with a gilt hook and eye clasp, each piece shaped as the Eye of Horus. The back of the clasp is signed "MMA 1976". A gorgeous and wearable memento of a historic exhibit. Circa 1976.

The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol that represents well-being, healing, and protection. Horus is the falcon-headed god; the son of Osiris and Isis, the divine child of the holy family triad.
