A monumental Mid-Century statement ring set with a moody cabochon cut sapphire framed in sparkling diamonds. The 14k white gold body of the ring is quite substantial, with a wide band, thick cathedral shoulders, and a chunky, high-profile top. The top of the ring is a cut-corner square, and the sapphire center stone sits in a raised bezel within a frame of bright white diamonds that emphasize its deep blue color. Openwork shoulders and an arching ribbed gallery give the piece its architectural appeal. Big and bold, this icy statement ring will draw all eyes. Circa 1960.
