Language of Flowers Antique 15k Locket

The language of Flowers.....This locket is not only articulated and beautifully engraved, it carries a message. Each side of the locket is expertly engraved with a slightly different pattern, both sides having in common the flowers depicted, Pansies and fat Roses. In the Language of Flowers, a secret subtle way of communicating popular in the 19th century, the Pansy represents Thoughts and the Rose Love. And so this locket was a love gift, saying from the giver to the recipient, I have thoughts of Love for you. This message is made all the sweeter as the original photos are still inside, pictures of the lovers that seem to gaze at one another when the locket is opened. Lockets make such a wonderful love gift, I always feel that when the locket is closed with the pictures of yourself and your loved on inside its like a forever hug.

Details.....The chain is 18" long. The locket measures 1.5" x .75". In Very Good Antique condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces, we consider it part of the charm.
